Overview

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading international NGO focused on responding to displacement and humanitarian crises. DRC has been operating in Bangladesh since 2013, providing integrated support in site management, shelter, protection, and assistance to both Rohingya refugees and host communities in Cox’s Bazar. The organization is currently seeking a dedicated Gender-based Violence Officer to strengthen its protection programs.

The GBV Officer will be responsible for implementing high-quality Gender-Based Violence response and prevention activities. This includes providing survivor-centered case management, conducting prevention interventions, monitoring, reporting, and coordination with stakeholders. The role is critical in ensuring comprehensive GBV services in Cox’s Bazar.

Requirements

  • University degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Law, or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in GBV response, protection, or MHPSS in humanitarian settings

  • Experience working with INGOs, NGOs, or UN agencies is preferred

  • Strong communication skills, empathy, and ability to work with vulnerable communities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Fluency in English and Bengali (both written and spoken)

Responsibilities

  • Provide survivor-centered case management services following GBVIMS guidelines

  • Implement GBV prevention interventions and activities

  • Conduct monitoring and maintain accurate documentation using GBVIMS and other tools

  • Prepare and submit timely reports on program activities

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders for comprehensive service delivery

  • Participate in supervision, capacity building, and team meetings

  • Maintain data confidentiality and adhere to GBV guiding principles

  • Support overall GBV program implementation and safe space management
